Pandora Sykes is an author, journalist and broadcaster. A former editor at The Sunday Times Style, she has written for titles including The Guardian, Vogue, ELLE, Porter, GQ and Grazia, and published two books, The Sunday Times bestselling essay collection, How Do We Know We're Doing It Right? and the anthology, What Writers Read: 35 Writers on Their Favourite Book, which she edited in aid of The National Literacy Trust. She writes a bi-weekly newsletter on Substack, Books+Bits, which is the UK's No.1 books newsletter, publishing to over 85,000 readers.
Pandora is known for her No.1 podcasts and audio documentaries. The co-creator and co-host of the culture-shaping The High Low (which went out to 1.2 million listeners) and the interview podcast, Doing It Right, she has written and hosted two audio documentaries for Radio 4, Pieces of Britney and, with Sirin Kale, Unreal: A Critical History of Reality TV. Both were Times, Guardian and Apple podcasts of the year. She was the host of The Missing for 8 seasons and has hosted companion podcasts for Disney+ (on Jilly Cooper’s Rivals) and Universal Pictures/ Sony (on Bridget Jones.)
An interviewer and moderator for stage and print, Pandora has interviewed authors and celebrities including Bernadine Evaristo, Margaret Atwood, Kate Winslet, Keira Knightley and Jacinda Ardern, and was a judge on the 2022 Women's Prize for Fiction. She has hosted live events for Netflix, Universal Pictures, The Royal Academy, Sky TV, Paramount Plus and arts festivals such as Cheltenham, Hay and Charleston. She is a campaigner for children for The NSPCC.
