The Missing is a podcast about long-term missing people, produced by What's The Story? Sounds, in collaboration with charities Locate International and Missing People and hosted by journalist and broadcaster, Pandora Sykes. It's real-life mystery with a social purpose: to find out what really happened to the long-term missing, using interviews with friends and family to tell their life stories. "A well-researched and ethically sound addition to the true crime genre" reviewed The Guardian. "[Sykes is an] excellent host, her script and presentation striking the right balance between intrigue and empathy". The Sunday Times commented that "it’s got the hallmarks of the genre: gripping whodunnit narratives, moody music [and] emotive case studies" while Vogue wrote that "it will keep you on the edge of your seat". In 2021, The Missing was nominated for a British Podcast Award. By the end of 2023, there will have been eight series.
