Tina Daheley

Broadcaster and presenter Tina Daheley’s work stretches across news and current affairs to sport and the arts, appealing to a wide range of very diverse audiences. Tina can currently be heard 06.30 – 09.30 Mon – Fri presenting the news on the biggest breakfast radio show in the UK, the BBCR2 Breakfast show hosted by Zoe Ball. The very same week that the show launched in 2019, Tina could also be seen presenting the BBC One Primetime Panorama: Takeaway Secrets Exposed and Tina is fast becoming a go to face for the BBC. Before this, she was best known for hosting the news and sport to nearly 6 million listeners every week on BBC’s RADIO 1 BREAKFAST SHOW from 2012 to 2018 alongside Nick Grimshaw. With a first class honours degree in Computer Science and a Masters in Broadcast Journalism, Tina joined the BBC in 2007 and is a regular face on television, presenting BREAKFAST NEWS on BBC ONE along with regular slots on the prolific BBC NEWS AT SIX as well as the BBC NEWS AT TEN . She regularly presents WOMAN’S HOUR on RADIO 4, and also manages to to fit in hosting THE CULTURAL FRONTLINE, her own weekly global arts programme on the BBC WORLD SERVICE. Tina was the voice that took Points of View from a visual presenter led show into a voice hosted show in 2018 on BBC One and was an integral part of the BBC SOUNDS launch, co-hosting the new Radio 4 podcast “Beyond Today” alongside Matthew Price.

Tina is passionate about making news, current affairs and the arts accessible to everyone and is especially skilled at hosting audience debates. She has interviewed a host of incredible names and most recently, was personally invited by THE ROYAL FOUNDATION to host their forum with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Duke and Duchess of Sussex to talk about the foundation’s charitable projects and upcoming work. More and more Tina is being asked to co-host major BBC event coverage, and this year she was part of the lead presentation team for the Royal Wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in May 2018. Tina was one of the lead presenters for BBC NEWS during the 2017 and 2015 General Election Campaigns and the EU Referendum, hosting THE FINAL ELECTION DEBATE on BBC ONE and leader interviews on BBC TWO, RADIO 1 NEWSBEAT and the BBC NEWS CHANNEL.

Away from news, Tina also fronts Women’s Football for BBC SPORT, hosted last year’s Women’s FA Cup Final live from Wembley, live coverage of England Women’s Euro Qualifiers and THE WOMEN’S FOOTBALL SHOW. She hosted the Women’s Football World Cup in Canada in 2015.

Tina is a prolific social media user. She has more than a quarter of a million followers on Twitter. Outside of her journalism work she recently made a cameo appearance in A League of Gentlemen’s Christmas special and another highlight was her on-air rap battle with Idris Elba on Radio 1.
