Johnny Vaughan

Presenting 7 Days A Week on Radio X

Johnny is one of the UK’s best known and well loved broadcasters. Since the start of his career he has risen through the ranks across the media industry with his television and radio work, comedy writing and weekly columns for the biggest daily newspapers in the country.

2015 saw Johnny host an exciting new drivetime show on RadioX 5 days a week and in 2016 he started hosting the Saturday Morning Kick About Show for Radio X and the Sunday morning “Best Of…” show, also for Radio X.

In 1994 Channel 4 first recognized his TV potential and gave him a slot hosting the cult show Moviewatch, followed by his own weekly chat show Here’s Johnny. His first major role was presenting The Big Breakfast, where his madcap humor and on-air chemistry with Denise Van Outen helped restore viewing figures, and Johnny earnt critical acclaim.

In 2003 Johnny was recruited by BBC3 to help launch the channel – a unique 2-year deal, giving him the freedom to work across a range of different projects.

In 2004 Johnny made a return to writing comedy with his dope drama –Top Buzzer.

His production company Worlds End is thriving and is behind such successes as Katie Brand on ITV.

Johnny is best known as the host of the Capital Radio Breakfast show. He left the show in 2010 on a high when it achieved a record number of listeners since 2005.

In 2012 Johnny was part of the London 2012 Olympics by broadcasting daily coverage for Absolute Radio from Hyde Park. He also wrapped up his year with Radio 2 exploring his love of Swing Music for “Johnny Vaughan’s Swinging Session”.

Johnny continued his exploration on the Thames with the Society of Thames Mudlarks as they embarked on the third series of Mud Men, which was successful in territories around the world.

Johnny also Executive Produced Kill Your Friends, which was released in 2015.
